The Talmud Is the Link Between Scripture and Jewish Practice The Hebrew Scripture (also known as Torah) is the bedrock of Jewish practice and beliefs. The Torah itself is fully aware that it must be seen as being greater than the sum of its parts, as indicated by the statement (Deut.
